Connecting the Curious: Where Young Talent and Industry Meet

Connecting the Curious is a networking event created by NL Space Campus to bring together students, young professionals, startups, and companies driving Europe’s space future. Organised in cooperation with ESA BIC Noordwijk, ESA BIC Northern Germany, AVIASPACE Bremen, BDLI, and Starhaus, it takes place every year alongside Space Tech Expo Europe in Bremen. The event has become a recognised meeting point where curiosity meets opportunity and ambition meets experience.Β

A Space for New VoicesΒ

In three energetic rounds of 30-second pitches, students, young professionals, and startups introduce themselves, their ideas, and what they are looking for next. The atmosphere is open, informal, and full of energy. Many participants pitch for the first time, gaining visibility, confidence, and new contacts in just a few minutes.Β

Each edition fills up quickly, with more than 130 participants and 30 pitches. The event now attracts attendees from across Europe, representing universities, research centres, and young companies eager to connect with peers and professionals in the sector.Β

Why It WorksΒ

Large conferences can be overwhelming for newcomers who find it difficult to approach experienced professionals or company representatives. Connecting the Curious changes that by creating an accessible environment where curiosity, enthusiasm, and expertise meet naturally.Β

For companies and institutions, it offers direct access to a highly motivated and diverse audience. It is an opportunity to meet the next generation of engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs in a setting that encourages genuine conversation and discovery. Instead of formal introductions, it is about real dialogue, mutual interest, and shared goals.Β

For students and startups, it is the place to meet potential employers, collaborators, or investors. Many participants leave with new contacts, internship offers, or project ideas that continue long after the event ends.Β

FromΒ Small Event to a Recognised PlatformΒ

What began as a small side event quickly turned into one of the most anticipated gatherings during Space Tech Expo Europe. The format proved its value: approachable, fast-paced, and focused on real interaction. Each edition attracts more students, startups, and professionals who see its relevance and return the following year.Β

Through collaboration with ESA BIC Noordwijk, ESA BIC Northern Germany, AVIASPACE Bremen, BDLI, and Starhaus, NL Space Campus has established Connecting the Curious as a trusted platform for exchange between talent and industry. It shows how a clear focus and accessible setup can make meaningful connections happen in practice.Β

A Proven Model for EngagementΒ

Connecting the Curious demonstrates NL Space Campus’s role as a connector of people and ideas. By bringing emerging talent and established organisations together in one space, it helps shape the next phase of Europe’s space innovation.Β

It is more than a networking event. It is a starting point for careers, partnerships, and ideas that continue to grow.Β

Stay curious. Stay connectedΒ

From workshops and courses to incubators and events, everything is brought together through a strong collaboration between key partners across the Netherlands.Β
The Remote Sensing for Floriculture (RSvS) project combines AI, drone technology, and satellite data to support early plant disease detection. It focuses on common diseases in ornamental plants, such as botrytis in tulips and hyacinths. The project is a collaboration between Unmanned Valley, Greenport Duin- en Bollenstreek, NL Space Campus, gemeente Katwijk, and provincie Zuid-Holland, among others.Β
