One Space Hub

THE SPACE SECTOR IS A RAPIDLY GROWING InDUSTRY WITH A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR STUDENTS AND ENTREPRENEURIAL TALENTS.

HOWEVER, IT CAN BE DIFFICULT FOR OUTSIDERS TO ENTER THE SECTOR.

SOME OF THE CHALLENGES ARE:

Lack of transparency:
The space sector can be difficult to navigate. Outsiders struggle to find information about the different commercial opportunities career paths available in the space sector, as well as the skills and qualifications required for each path.

High barriers to entry:
The space sector is associated with an extremely high level of technical expertise (the proverbial “rocket scientist”), which can be daunting and a barrier to entry.

Limited job opportunities:
The space sector is a relatively small industry, which means that there are limited job opportunities available.

Competition:
The space sector is highly competitive, with many talented individuals vying for a limited number of positions and opportunities.

Regulatory challenges:
The space sector is subject to a complex web of regulations, which can be difficult to navigate. This can make it challenging to develop new technologies and bring them to market.

IT IS THEREFORE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO FACILITATE THE NAVIGATION AND ENTRY TO THE SPACE SECTOR AND TO PROVIDE AN ENABLING ENVIRONMENT FOR GROWTH OF SPACE ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

ABOUT ONE SPACE HUB

OneSpaceHub (OSH) has kicked off in 2023 to address this need by supporting space entrepreneurial journey through a strong national partnership. OSH is a two years programme led by the NL Space Campus supported by RVO’s One Single Hub initiative, the participating partners provide expertise and support to space enthusiasts at various stages of the journey in three provinces in the Netherlands.

Collectively the OSH participating organizations provide support in covering different aspects such as financing, valorisation, talent, and marketingin the most important early phases of entrepreneurship: education, activation (ideation and inspiration), pre-incubation and incubation

OneSpaceHub aims to make these programmes better aligned, more visible, and in particular broadly accessible. A uniform, efficient and accessible OneSpaceHub trajectory will be proposed on the OneSpaceHub platform and the users will be able to join the journey from the entry points that fit their profile and needs.

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ONE SPACE HUB

The mission of OneSpaceHub is to better facilitate and stimulate the entrepreneurial journey from education and pre-incubation to start-up and scale-up and to generate more space related start-ups and scale-ups in the Netherlands. This will be realized through achieving the following main objectives:

  • Offering a detailed “Comprehensive Menu” of the aligned programmes offered by all the project partners.
  • Strengthening and connecting the various programmes within OSH
  • Providing a guided user journey and advising the user with correct entry points
  • Ensuring sustainability, growth, and continuity of the OSH
