The Space & Water Hackathon will take place from 1–3 October 2026 at CometLab, NL Space Campus in Noordwijk. The event focuses on the use of space technologies and Earth Observation data to address water-related challenges through collaborative, challenge-based projects.
Organised in collaboration with the FIERCE programme, the hackathon welcomes participants interested in developing new ideas, refining existing concepts or bringing their own challenge or prototype. During the three-day programme, participants will work with satellite data and other space technologies while exchanging knowledge with experts from government, research and industry.
The hackathon is supported by a variety of partners including Rijkswaterstaat, the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), the Municipality of Noordwijk and Economic Board Duin- en Bollenstreek.
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the FIERCE Financial Support Programme, which supports SMEs developing space-enabled green solutions in collaboration with External Service Providers. Teams joining the hackathon with a working prototype might even get the validation to apply for this programme!
This event follows earlier activities at CometLab exploring the use of Earth Observation for water-related applications, including the Dutch edition of the CASSINI Hackathon held in April this year.
