U Are the Universe – Movie screening

October 10, 2025
| 18:45
- 20:15
Location: Trianon Theather, Leiden
Organising party: Leiden International Film Festival

When Earth explodes, Ukrainian astronaut Andriy is left drifting alone in the universe. At least, thatโ€™s what he thinks โ€” until Catherine, a French scientist aboard a remote space station, reaches out. What follows is an unusual and heartfelt long-distance relationship that sparks hope in the most hopeless of circumstances.

Director Pavlo Ostrikov sidesteps clichรฉs in this authentic debut, breathing fresh sincerity into the idea that someone can truly be your โ€œentire universe.โ€ With strong performances from Alexia Depicker and Volodymyr Kravchuk, the film offers both intimacy and cosmic wonder.

Screening highlights

  • Runtime: 90 minutes
  • Language: Ukrainian
