Facilities

Facilities are a key ingredient for turning ambitious ideas into real innovations. At NL Space Campus, we provide startups, scale-ups, and researchers with the spaces, tools, and community they need to develop, test, and scale their technologies. Thanks to the support of Provincie Zuid-Holland and Gemeente Noordwijk, the campus continues to evolve into a unique environment where knowledge, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship converge.

Integrated Facilities for the European Space Ecosystem

Vision Campus 2035 positions NL Space Campus as a connected European hub, located next to ESA ESTEC, where research, industry, education, and public partners collaborate across the entire space value chain. The campus already offers access to office space, meeting facilities, a maker space at CometLab and advanced technical infrastructure, including thermal vacuum testing (TVAC). In addition, several facilities have been announced or are under development, including a Small Antenna Test Facility, an Optical Ground Station, a satcom fieldlab (Satinsight), Gaia multi-tenant office space, Giotto 69 short-stay apartments, and the Space Impact Centre, complemented by shared amenities such as food trucks.

By integrating research and development, testing, manufacturing and scale-up within a single environment, the campus supports faster innovation, reduces development risk and strengthens collaboration. With strong links to European knowledge centres, NL Space Campus contributes to competitiveness, strategic autonomy and long-term economic and societal impact within the European space ecosystem.

Events

NL Space Campus connects people through a strong international network and a shared passion for space innovation. We host regular events—online and offline—and offer a platform for others to do the same, bringing together students, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas.

Funding plays a crucial role in the success of space innovations. We aim to help startups, scaleups and SME’s to find the right funding partners by guiding them through the space ecosystem and the funding landscape. By showcasing space innovations at our events such as the monthly NL Space Campus Network & Drinks, investor events and NL Space Week, we help them to gain visibility and accelerate their growth.

Connecting the Curious is a networking event created by NL Space Campus to bring together students, young professionals, startups, and companies driving Europe’s space future. Organised in cooperation with ESA BIC Noordwijk, ESA BIC Northern Germany, AVIASPACE Bremen, BDLI, and Starhaus, it takes place every year alongside Space Tech Expo Europe in Bremen. The event has become a recognised meeting point where curiosity meets opportunity and ambition meets experience.
Supporting aspiring space entrepreneurs takes more than funding and technical tools—it requires a well-connected ecosystem. OneSpaceHub brings this to life by offering a clear, central platform that connects people with the right support at the right moment. From workshops and courses to incubators and events, everything is brought together through a strong collaboration between key partners across the Netherlands.
The Remote Sensing for Floriculture (RSvS) project combines AI, drone technology, and satellite data to support early plant disease detection. It focuses on common diseases in ornamental plants, such as botrytis in tulips and hyacinths. The project is a collaboration between Unmanned Valley, Greenport Duin- en Bollenstreek, NL Space Campus, gemeente Katwijk, and provincie Zuid-Holland, among others.
