Space4Good has been selected as an External Service Provider for the EU FIERCE program whichย is supporting European SMEs that want to integrate satellite Earth Observation (EO) into their green solutions. The call exists to lower the barriers for organisations that have not yet worked with EO and may perceive it as too risky or complex to try for the first time. By pairing grant funding with expert providers like Space4Good, FIERCE helps deโrisk those first EO projects and turn curiosity into concrete pilots.
Within the FIERCE call, eligible SMEs can apply for up to โฌ25,000 for ideation and commercialisation projects, or up to โฌ50,000 for scaleโup activities that advance or deploy EOโenabled solutions. This funding is designed to ease the upfront investment in data, tools and specialist support that many SMEs cannot justify from their own budgets, even when the longโterm benefits are clear. Beyond reducing financial risk, the programme also aims to accelerate the uptake of EO across sectors, close the skills gap around environmental data, and stimulate a more robust European ecosystem of EOโpowered climate and nature solutions.
โSpace technology should not sit in orbit as an abstract concept, it should help decisionโmakers on the ground protect our environment, manage our resources and build more resilient value chains,โ says Alexander Gunkel, CEO of Space4Good. โAs a FIERCE External Service Provider, we want to make advanced Earth Observation accessible to SMEs that normally wouldnโt have the expertise inโhouse, so together we can turn environmental data into realโworld impact and build confidence for longโterm EO adoption.โ
