The SBIC Demo Day 2026 on 8 December will shine a light on the entrepreneurial ecosystem that is at the heart of the space business community in Noordwijk. It will be a chance for expert exchange and for being inspired by space tech innovations. Get to know the people behind the ideas and find out what makes the mentors tick. It is a celebratory occasion for the community, by the community.
Programme
Pitching and presentations
Each session of the event highlights the innovations of startups and entrepreneurs who develop their solutions at the SBIC space business hub by participating in the various programmes managed by the SBIC team. These range from startups and alumni of the ESA BIC programme to a graduate of the Soft Landing programme. Interestingly, a number of the founders on stage have also been through the pre-incubation Ignition Programme, which has just opened for applications for the next edition.
The other programmes (co-managed by SBIC and NL Space Campus) are also represented on stage, with a presentation on a successful business case via the ESA Technology Broker Netherlands and a pitch from the first participant in the ESA Phi-Lab Netherlands.
Each entrepreneur shares their product or service and inspires the audience with stories of how their business is thriving within a space market ecosystem. All the innovations described have a space connection, with the majority of the presentations focusing on downstream concepts. These include technology transfer innovations that bring space technology down to novel applications on Earth (hardware, software, knowledge/processes, or intellectual property rights).
