NL Space Campus is the Dutch gateway to the space sector. The campus is a platform for the space ecosystem that stimulates and facilitates knowledge sharing and cooperation for innovation, business, and societal impact. With ESA ESTEC and its thousands of space experts, the Galileo Reference Centre, Space Business Innovation Centre, many dozens of space technology & data companies and the strong cooperation with the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities, the campus is the beating heart of the space sector. Together with its partners, NL Space Campus is here to facilitate, stimulate, connect, and strengthen.
We work in the centre of the Dutch space industry. A young foundation with many stakeholders in a dynamic environment where we spend a lot of time networking, connecting and strengthening the Dutch space industry. We are a small team, working together with a lot of partners, many stakeholders and are always open to new collaborations with parties. We work a lot with students, YPs, institutes, startups and growing organizations. Every day is different, you can compare us most to a startup. Not everything is delineated, which means you get a lot of freedom, but also take ownership. We value your input and take initiative. But above all: we are all passionate about making the space industry in the Netherlands more collaborative and providing opportunities for innovation and development of space technology.
Some of your duties include:
- Support in the organization of events such as hackathons, networking drinks and the space summer school;
- (Visual) communication: Social media, campaigns and newsletters;
- Thinking along and implementing our new CRM system;
- Contributing to ongoing projects, such as the development of our new website;
- Support in PR-related tasks, such as approaching media.
- General support to the organisation.
What you will learn
You will learn to work with highly diverse partners, from farmers to astronauts, from the caterer to the minister. Because of the multitude of tasks and the small scale of the foundation, there is a lot of room for your input and a lot of flexibility in the interpretation of activities and assignments. You will support our community manager in preparing, organizing and execute her activities. You will sometimes work on projects that are more business-oriented, supporting the commercial programme manager, for example with researching startups in the area in need of investors. Overall, you support the team in improving processes and software tools that help achieve our goals more efficiently, such as with a new CRM system and the new website. If necessary, you will support the content manager in completing and designing the newsletter. There is room for your own interpretation depending on your own ambition, studies and talents. In our team, there are always plenty of opportunities to develop in the direction that fits you!
This is what your day may look like
You will become part of the team and therefore spend at least one day a week on location. This is at the office in Noordwijk or at the Space Business Innovation Centre, but you will also often accompany us to other locations. From lunches and drinks with the community to on-site content events. You work on what's on your plate yourself and discuss this weekly with your internship supervisor.
What do we offer?
- A young and energetic working environment with enthusiastic colleagues;
- A lot of freedom;
- An internship allowance of [€400 euro p.m.];
- Help and guidance from your internship supervisor with your school assignment and your internship;
- You will get to places you would never get to otherwise and build a mega network in space and technology!
This is you
We challenge you to develop yourself and you will be given a lot of responsibility. You feel responsible for the tasks you take on and enjoy taking initiative. You think along with us, ask questions and have a positive attitude. You are flexible and sociable, take initiative and feel comfortable in a sometimes chaotic environment. You enjoy working evenings or weekends now and then, because events are not limited to standard working hours.
- You have an affinity for Space and think technology is an important part of moving towards a better future;
- You want to challenge yourself and have or would like to develop a growth mindset;
- You are not afraid to ask questions;
- You study at HBO or WO-level and speak and read English well, Dutch is a pré.
